Only 4 weeks until I move to Kansas City and start my externship at The Farmhouse restaurant!
If you are ever in the area, you must check it out. They are part of the farm-to-table movement, so everything served is super fresh and local. A lot of creativity flows through that place, which was one of the huge factors of me choosing it. Their menu is constantly changing day to day, so you never get that “ho-hum” feeling.
I am one lucky girl, and I simply cannot wait to start.
One thing I love are dish towels that hang off of the oven door. They are so handy!
I love them even more when they are securely fastened so they don’t fall off as I frantically wipe off my hands.
I decided to make one.
I bought some plain cotton yarn when it was on sale. As I worked with it I discovered that it looked kind of like corn! Being an Iowa girl, I love my corn, so this got me very excited. I made a rectangle with the yellow/white mix, trimmed it with green cotton yarn, and then crocheted the top flap and added a white button.
As much as I would like to give you a pattern for this, I did not write anything down as I made it. It was a make-up-as-I-go type of project. Next time I make one, which I feel could be very soon, I will make sure to write it all down and post it for all of you to enjoy.
